Choosing Childcare While Working in Silicon Valley - Finding community and support far from home

For many families in Silicon Valley, raising children comes with a unique challenge.

Many parents have moved here from different parts of the world to pursue their careers in technology, engineering, science, and research. Life moves quickly, work schedules can be demanding, and for many families, extended family — grandparents, aunts, uncles — are thousands of miles away.

We understand this reality very well.

At Kids Club, we are sisters. We built this daycare together, far from our own home country, creating a place where family is not just something you are born into — but something you choose.

When we started Kids Club, we quickly realized something beautiful: many of the families who came to us were living the same experience we were.

Parents from China, India, Israel, Africa, Europe, and Latin America, all building their lives here in Silicon Valley while raising their children far from the support systems they once had.

Over time, something special began to happen.

Kids Club became more than a daycare.

It became a community.

A place where families find connection

When children spend their early years in a daycare environment, the relationships they build there become incredibly meaningful.

But the same is true for parents.

We love getting to know our families — hearing their stories, learning about their cultures, celebrating their traditions, and watching the beautiful ways they raise their children.

Through birthday celebrations, family gatherings, creative events, and everyday conversations, we have built relationships that go far beyond the classroom.

Many of our families say the same thing:

And for us, that is exactly what we hoped to create.

Living far from home can sometimes feel lonely, especially during the early years of parenting.

That’s why we intentionally create opportunities for families to connect — not just with us, but with each other.

We organize family events, celebrations, and shared moments that allow parents and children to build friendships and support networks within our community.

These moments strengthen the sense of belonging that every family deserves.

Because when families feel supported, children feel it too.

One of the most beautiful parts of our work is the opportunity to learn from the families around us.

Through our children and their families, we have traveled the world without leaving our classroom.
